Fire Safety Management Support

Practical, ongoing support to help responsible persons, landlords and managing agents stay on top of their fire safety duties between assessments, with clear advice whenever you need it.

Keeping fire safety on track between assessments

A fire risk assessment is a snapshot. Fire safety management is what keeps you compliant the rest of the year. We help responsible persons, landlords and managing agents put simple, workable systems in place so duties are met day to day, not just on the day of an inspection.

Who it is for

It suits busy responsible persons and managing agents who know what needs doing but do not have the time or in-house expertise to keep on top of it, and who want a clear, defensible record that their building is being managed properly.

What fire safety management involves

Good fire safety management is mostly about routine and records. The main elements we help you put in place and maintain are:

Fire safety policy and duties

A clear policy setting out who is responsible for what, suited to your building and your role as the responsible person.

Records and the fire logbook

A single, organised record of assessments, checks, tests, maintenance and training, ready for an inspector or insurer.

Routine checks and testing

Simple schedules for the regular checks the law expects, such as alarms, emergency lighting and fire doors.

Staff training and fire drills

Helping your team understand their responsibilities and what to do in an emergency.

Contractor and works control

Sensible oversight of contractors and hot works so day-to-day activity does not create new risks.

Action plan tracking

Keeping the fire risk assessment action plan moving, so issues are closed out and nothing is forgotten.

What you receive

Practical systems and templates you can actually maintain, plus a clear record that demonstrates your building is being managed responsibly. We keep it proportionate to your building, not a mountain of paperwork.

Our consultancy approach

Daedon is a building surveying and fire safety consultancy. We assess, advise, review and report, and can recommend competent contractors for any works. We do not install or maintain equipment ourselves, so our advice stays independent.

Fire safety management FAQs

Is fire safety management a legal requirement?
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person must not only have a fire risk assessment but also manage fire safety on an ongoing basis, including maintaining fire precautions and keeping records. Good management is how you meet that duty.
How is this different from a fire risk assessment?
A fire risk assessment identifies what needs doing. Fire safety management is the ongoing routine, the checks, records, training and follow-up, that keeps the building compliant between assessments.
Do you take over as the responsible person?
No. The legal duty stays with you, but we provide the systems, guidance and support to help you meet it with confidence.
Do you carry out the checks and works yourselves?
We set up and support the systems and can recommend competent contractors for testing, maintenance and remedial works. As a consultancy we advise and report rather than service equipment.
